This workshop provides an overview of the major issues in research including key concepts in research methods appropriate to the investigation of problems in public health. It demonstrates how to formulate testable research hypotheses, utilize appropriate study designs, collect and analyze data, and interpret findings with an eye to their potential public health impact. It also considers designs and techniques appropriate for qualitative/text data analysis. It will cover both quantitative and qualitative methods. There will be a lab session on the use of computers in Public Health. In addition, the aim of this workshop is to provide researchers with the opportunity to develop skills to conduct research independently and to critically appraise existing research.
Academicians, young researchers, MD/PhD students, programme officers, staff working with government or NGOs, programme evaluators, M&E experts.
The workshop will be held through Cisco Webex. All the sessions will be hands-on practical and implementation-based. Recording and presented contents will be provided to each registered participant. The timing of each session will be 6:00p.m. to 8:00 p.m. each day. International Participants are requested to convert IST to their local time. Click here for world clock.
